A Night of White and of Fellowship
Saturday, 06 June 2015 | Charity
A night dedicated to the colour of White and to fellowship was organized by the Rotary Clubs of Estoi and Olhão in co-operation with the Alliance Française. The event took place in the unique ambience of the cloistered courtyard of the Municipal Museum of Faro, formerly a 16th century convent. The objective was to raise funds towards a state-of-the-art mobile breast screening unit for the Algarve.
Almost 200 people attended the event, dressed completely in white, and the entry fee of 20 € per person was collected to support the Algarve Oncology Association. Long tables, with seating for ten people, had to be decorated in White, including tablecloths, accessories and table decorations, and the best dressed tables were awarded a prize - with the table of Rotary Club Faro being the winner! Food and drinks had to be brought along for an individual gourmet experience.
The atmospheric evening included great Flamenco (from Seville) and Fado performances as well as a raffle. It was the first time that such a dinner, already familiar in different international cities, was held in Portugal.
