Vale da Pinta Golf

Location and access

The Pestana Golf Resort with the Gramacho and Vale da Pinta courses is situated away from the coast between Carvoeiro and Lagoa.

The undulating terrain is liberally dotted with carob, fig, palm, almond and olive trees.

 It is only three kilometres drive from the En125 in the centre of Lagoa and around six km from the A22 motorway (exit 6)

Golf course

This great golf layout was designed by American Ronald Fream. It opened for play in 1992 and has justly earned a reputation for its excellent condition and its ability to challenge golfers of all standards. The course preparation and condition is at tournament standard all year round. It has  already hosted the European Seniors Tour Qualifying final several times.

The Bermuda grass fairways and Penn Cross Bent greens are protected by well positioned sand bunkers and two ornamental lakes, which are in play on four holes. Green size is well matched to the length of the approach shot. This 6.152 metres, par 71 course, will be appreciated by all knowledgeable golfers.

Services & facilities

The head coach for the Gramacho, Pinta, and Silves Courses is Carlos Ribeiro, a member of the Portuguese PGA. As a David Leadbetter certified instructor he has vast experience teaching all levels of players, from beginners to the advanced. Lessons can be given in Portuguese, French, English and German.

Noteworthy

The Vale da Pinta course is said to be one of the best designed courses in Europe.
