The golf courses and the international marina are the economic and social centre of this resort, located in the Golden Triangle of the Algarve, next to Vale do Lobo and Quinta do Lago. At the upper right corner you can see the beach Praia de Vilamoura, stretching from the marina to the neighbouring town Quarteira.

Luis Figo, one of Portugal's most popular football players ever, is a local hero in the Algarve. He owns this deck lounge and the restaurant on the other side of the promenade. The number 7 refers to his shirt number when he played for FC Barcelona and Real Madrid.
On three sides a promenade surrounds the marina of Vilamoura. Access by car is only permitted for the owners of the boats moored there.

All around the marina there is a wide choice of bars and restaurants offering everything from a light snack to gourmet dining. Cuisine varies from traditional Portuguese and typically British to true Italian, Indian, Chinese, to mention but some.
The Casino, situated a few minutes of walking distance from the marina, is one of only three of its kind in the entire Algarve, operated by the Solverde group.
