In 2016 the FEE has awarded 88 beaches in the Algarve with its quality label, the “Blue Flag”, among them eight in the municipalities of Silves and Lagoa. Here you will find images of all these awarded beaches from Praia Grande on the lagoon in Salgados in the east to Ferragudo on the estuary of the Arade river in the west. In 2016 the FEE has awarded 88 beaches in the Algarve with its quality label, the “Blue Flag”, among them twelve in the Ria Formosa. Here you will find images of all these awarded beaches from Faro in the west to Tavira in the east. Only one of them, Praia da Fuseta-Ria, is situated on the coast of the mainland, all others are on the islands of the Ria Formosa lagoon. Except the beaches of Faro-Mar and Barril these beaches can only be accessed by ferry boat or water taxi.
